Headshot.jpg

Hi, I'm Sam.

I’ve been a practicing MFT since November of 2020 and have worked with many populations in my time in the field. I have worked in remote reservation settings, upscale group practices, and opened my own telehealth practice in July of 2023 through Arizona's Supervised Private Practice (SPP) program.

I specialize in working with LGBTQAI+ folks who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationships move from surviving to thriving. I have been a teacher, an advocate, a protestor, a consultant, and an advisor since I first began this journey back in 2010. I am excited to be able to offer you a unique supervision experience that pulls on all of these aspects of who I am as a therapist.

My commitment to you is to show up for you authentically in a way that draws on your strengths. I help my supervisees show up ethically, compassionately, and authentically for themselves and their clients.

Together we will focus on:

  • Ethics

  • Board Compliance

  • Authenticity

  • Self-Care

  • Boundaries

Focus Areas

Boundaries

We will work on maintaining appropriate emotional distance, setting clear expectations with clients, and adhering to ethical guidelines to ensure trust and professionalism.

Professional Identity

Developing a strong professional identity involves having strong ethics, understanding one's values, theoretical approach, and role within the mental health field. It requires continuous self-reflection, ethical commitment, and integration of personal strengths with professional standards to build confidence and credibility in practice.

Burnout Prevention

Having a successful career as a mental health professional requires balancing professional responsibilities with personal well-being. It involves setting boundaries, practicing self-care, seeking support, and maintaining a sustainable workload to preserve energy, effectiveness, and long-term career satisfaction

Ethics

We will have a strong focus on adhering to professional codes of conduct, maintaining client confidentiality, and making decisions that prioritize integrity and fairness. It requires continuous ethical reflection, respect for boundaries, and commitment to the well-being of clients and the profession.
