"It's dangerous to go alone! Take this." -The Legend of Zelda

You don't have to do this alone. You can connect, grow, and build strong relationships. You deserve to enjoy a shared experience where time is dedicated to expanding your social network while tackling your social anxiety through play.

Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) group therapy is a unique approach that combines the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons with therapeutic support. In this setting, you will come together with your group to play the game while also addressing personal challenges, emotional growth, and healing.

The D&D setting provides a safe and imaginative space where you can confront real-world challenges symbolically through your character, which can help build confidence, foster empathy, and provide a sense of camaraderie and support. It’s a way to work on personal growth, problem-solving, and social connections while enjoying a shared experience with others.

D&D can be a gateway to connection that is unlike any other. When I was attending my undergrad university, I found that D&D was a great way to build relationships and work through any social anxiety I may be navigating without the pressures of small talk. After I became a counselor, I learned that we could use D&D in the therapy setting to achieve great things without having to sit in a circle and panic whenever we are called on to share.

Dungeons & Dragons allows me to offer you something different. We can sit down together, play the game, and immerse ourselves in a world that allows us to connect with each other in new and exciting ways.

How it works:

During the sessions, each person takes on a character, engaging in storytelling and problem-solving within the fantasy world of D&D. The therapist guides the group through the game, using it as a tool to help each of you explore your emotions, build social skills, or work through specific mental health issues in a creative and fun way.
