You need change, and you need it fast.
You’ve tried traditional talk therapy and despite going to sessions weekly, you haven’t made the progress you’ve hoped for.
You’re feeling lost, stuck, or like you can’t be helped.
You’re looking for something more than the self-help books or advice articles can offer.
You’re looking for an approach that will help you achieve change quickly, build off of the work you’ve already done, and enhance your overall experience with therapy.

Your weekly therapy has hit a plateau, and you're looking for a breakthrough.

Your relationship is in crisis or your trauma has become so loud you can't hear anything else.

Deep-Dive Therapy for Faster Breakthroughs
EMDR and Relationship Intensives are accelerated approaches to therapy that allow you to heal the past, repair relationships, and move forward toward a brighter future.

They are longer blocks of time spent in therapy that is highly focused on what you want to work on.
Want to work on resolving trauma? We’ll spend several hours focused just on that.
Trying to get rapid improvement in communication skills in your relationship? We can do that.
Therapy intensives are longer periods of time dedicated to a focused issue. Instead of meeting with me for an hour on a weekly basis, we meet for several hours at a time. This time spent together is intense, hence why these sessions are called intensives.
Find Relief. Fast.
Choosing to sit down and do an intensive with me is an investment in your well-being. When you come in for an intensive, you are receiving a personalized approach that is aimed at getting you relief fast.

We'll sit down together to do a deep dive into our target area. Over the course of several hours or days we will focus solely on your target and build new healing, skills, and wisdom in a short time.
How it works.
-
Schedule a free 15-minute consultation: First, let's meet and discuss your interest in an intensive. We'll discuss your goals and what you're hoping to get from intensive sessions to see if you'll be a good fit for this kind of deep work. If you are, then we'll set you up for a pre-intensive appointment, and I'll send you a resource packet and an agenda.
-
Pre-Intensive Session: In this 50-minute session for EMDR and a 4-hour session for Couples Intensives, we will gather your history, establish goals, and craft an individualized treatment plan. We will also discuss how to best prep for your intensive.
-
Intensive Session(s): We will meet for your intensive session(s) and focus on your goals. These sessions range from 3 to 6 hours and are determined by your needs and goals.
-
Post-intensive Session: This 50-minute session takes place after your intensive session and focuses on processing your experience during the intensive and where you'd like to go next.

EMDR
What is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of therapy that helps people heal from trauma, anxiety, and other emotional difficulties. It’s different from traditional talk therapy — instead of just talking about painful memories, EMDR helps your brain reprocess them so they no longer feel as upsetting.

How Does It Work?
When something really upsetting or traumatic happens, your brain sometimes doesn’t process the memory the way it normally would. That’s why certain memories can feel stuck — like they’re happening all over again, even years later.
EMDR uses guided eye movements or other types of rhythmic stimulation (like tapping) to help your brain "unstick" those memories. As you focus briefly on a troubling memory while following the therapist’s guidance, your brain starts to reprocess the memory in a healthier way. Over time, the memory becomes less intense and painful.

What to Expect
EMDR is a structured therapy that typically involves eight phases. In early sessions, your therapist will help you build coping skills and identify the memories to work on. During the reprocessing phase, you’ll focus on a memory while the therapist guides you through eye movements or other bilateral stimulation. Most people notice changes in how they feel after just a few sessions.

Gottman Method
What is the Gottman Method?
The Gottman Method is a research-based approach to couples therapy that helps partners build stronger, healthier, and more connected relationships. It’s designed for couples of all types — whether you're dating, engaged, married, or trying to rebuild after a tough period.

Created by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, this method is backed by decades of research into what makes relationships succeed or fail. It's not just about solving problems — it’s about deepening friendship, improving communication, and creating shared meaning in your relationship.

How Does It Work?
The Gottman Method focuses on three key areas:

-
Building friendship and connection
-
Managing conflict in healthy, respectful ways
-
Creating shared goals and values
You and your partner will learn practical tools to:
-
Communicate more clearly and effectively
-
Understand each other's needs better
-
Navigate disagreements without damaging the relationship
-
Rebuild trust, intimacy, and emotional connection

Therapists using the Gottman Method often start with a detailed relationship assessment and then tailor the sessions to your unique dynamic. You'll work together on specific exercises that strengthen your bond and help you feel more like a team.

Who Is It For?
The Gottman Method is helpful for couples who are:
-
Struggling with communication
-
Feeling disconnected
-
Recovering from betrayal or trust issues
-
Dealing with recurring arguments
-
Wanting to strengthen a good relationship before marriage or during major life transitions
What to Expect
Therapy typically involves both joint and individual sessions. You’ll learn about the “Four Horsemen” of relationship trouble (criticism, defensiveness, contempt, and stonewalling) and how to replace them with healthier habits. Over time, many couples find that they fight less, connect more, and feel more supported by each other.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is Intensive therapy effective and worth the cost?
Yes — many clients experience significant breakthroughs or relief in just one or a few sessions. Research supports intensives as being effective, especially for trauma, anxiety, and relational issues. Of course, everyone’s experience is unique and I cannot make any guarantees.
Q: Will I still need individual therapy after?
Some people do one intensive and feel complete, while others use it to jumpstart or deepen ongoing therapy. I can help you decide what kind of follow-up (if any) would be most helpful for you in our post-intensive session.
Q: Is it overwhelming?
It can be intense — but it’s also held in a safe, supportive space. You’ll have breaks, grounding tools, and my guidance throughout. Most people find it empowering, not overwhelming.
Q: Do you offer virtual intensives?
Yes. I offer virtual intensives in the states of Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, and Florida.
Q: How does insurance work with intensives?
Not all insurance plans will pay for intensives. Please check with your insurance carrier to see what your coverage entails. It is your responsibility to confirm your insurance benefits for intensive counseling services. In Arizona, I am currently in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Cigna, Carelon, and Quest Behavioral Health. In Florida I am currently in network with Aetna, Ascension, AnthemEAP, Carelon, Cigna, and Quest Behavioral Health. I do not currently accept insurance for couples/family or group services. I only accept insurance in Arizona and Florida at this time. I am also now working with Thrizer to help you claim your out-of-network benefits with your insurance carrier. Please see the Finances section on the FAQs page to learn more about how Thrizer might be able to help you with your therapy costs. Please note that not all insurance companies allow reimbursement for intensives.
Q: Do you offer payment plans?
No. Your intensive needs to be paid for in full at the pre-intensive session. When you schedule your intensive, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit to hold your spot on my schedule. The remainder of your balance will be due at the start of your pre-intensive session. You are welcome to make payments towards your balance before your pre-intensive session at any time.
Q: Do all of my sessions take place on the same day?
No. Your intensive will take place over the course of several days. Your pre-intensive session will take place the day before your intensive session while your post-intensive session will take place the day after your intensive session. For example, let's say that you want to do your 3-hour EMDR session on a Tuesday. Your pre session would be on Monday and your post session would be on Wednesday.
