LGBTQAI+ Therapy

Affirming LGBTQAI+ Therapy Online in North Phoenix and across Arizona and Florida.

A Safe Space for Healing, Support, and Self-Discovery.

Inclusive Therapy for Every Identity-Because Everyone Deserves Support.

Does this sound like you?

You’ve had to explain your identity to a therapist, and they still didn’t get it.

Therapy hasn’t worked for you in the past because you weren’t able to be open about who you are, who you love, or how your identity impacts your life.

Other people in your life don’t understand how being LGBTQAI+ is increasing your stress.

Identity isn’t what you’d like to talk about in therapy, but other therapists won’t let it go.

Questioning who you are, who you love, and what this means for your life goals has left you feeling lost and alone.

The current political environment has left you feeling isolated, afraid, and anxious about what’s to come.

Work has become a struggle. Relationships are falling apart. You’re feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, and unsure of where to turn next.

You find yourself doom-scrolling and researching ways to leave the country at all hours of the day. At the same time, you feel like nobody is taking your political anxiety seriously or like you can’t talk about it without being invalidated. You’re withdrawing from people and places that are important to you, and the loneliness is suffocating.

Engaging with community is at the top of your priority list, but you’re unsure of where and how you fit into the rainbow tapestry of your community, so you don’t engage at all.

Sharing yourself feels impossible, and you’re terrified of how your family, friends, and community will react. Instead of being open and authentic, you close down and keep everyone at arm’s length. The closet is so firmly closed you don’t know how to ever open it. Especially in today’s current political environment.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, isolated, and terrified. Every day tasks feel stressful, and if you have to take on one more thing, you’ll have a meltdown.

These challenges might have prevented you from accessing therapy in the past, landed you with therapists who couldn’t truly understand or help you, or left you with a bad impression of therapy.

Your identity should never be a barrier to healing.

Be Seen. Be Heard. Therapy that Understands.

Holding Hands Rainbow

Starting therapy is a powerful step toward growth and healing. But finding a therapist who truly understands the unique experiences of the LGBTQAI+ community can make all the difference. With someone who shares that lived experience, you'll be seen, heard, and understood in ways that create deeper, more meaningful support.

True empowerment comes from sharing your story authentically--with no need to filter, edit, or hide parts of yourself. As an LGBTQAI+ identified therapist, I understand firsthand how important it is to have a safe space where you can embrace every piece of who you are, free from judgment. Together, we will create a space where you can embrace every piece of who you are. Whether your identity is central to your therapy journey or simply a part of your story, openness is the first step towards meaningful growth.

No matter what has brought you to therapy, know that this space is yours--welcoming, affirming, and deeply understanding of how being LGBTQAI+ shapes your experiences. You deserve to be seen and supported in a way that honors your full self.

It's okay to not be okay right now. But imagine what it would feel like to step into a life where you are focused, connected, and free. Where shame no longer holds you back. Where you live, breathe, and move in your authenticity--unapologetically.

That life isn't just a distant possibility. It's within reach. And you deserve every moment of it--with support from someone who truly understands.

Working with me offers unique benefits that can empower you to move forward towards your goals and live your best life.

  1. Affirmation of Identity: Working with me will provide you with a safe, non-judgmental space where you can fully express yourself without fear of invalidation or misunderstanding. This can be particularly helpful if you are navigating issues related to coming out, gender dysphoria, or relationship dynamics.

  2. Culturally Competent Care: You will have a therapist who has training and experience addressing the unique challenges and stressors faced by our community. This includes awareness of minority stress, societal discrimination, internalized stigma, and other specific emotional or psychological experiences that can be influenced by your identity.

  3. Empathy and Shared Understanding: I am also part of the community, and this shared experience can foster a deeper sense of empathy and connection. It can help you feel seen and heard in ways that might be harder with a therapist who doesn’t share our community’s experiences.

  4. Safe Exploration of Identity: If you are in the process of exploring your gender or sexual identity,y I can provide valuable guidance. I can support you in understanding and defining your own identity without imposing labels or expectations, offering you a space for self-exploration at your own pace.

  5. Addressing Specific LGBTQAI+ Issues: I am familiar with challenges such as coming out, navigating relationships in the community, dealing with rejection, and managing societal pressures. We can work together to develop coping strategies and build resilience while addressing these issues compassionately and knowledgeably.

  6. Support for Intersectionality: Through nuanced support that acknowledges the unique experiences you have of belonging to multiple marginalized groups, we can navigate the intersections of multiple identities. Whether you are navigating the intersections of LGBTQAI+ identity and racial, cultural, or socioeconomic identities, we can hold space for you to share and acknowledge your authentic self in all your facets.

  7. Healing from Discrimination: We navigate a unique experience of discrimination, marginalization, and microaggressions, which can lead to mental health challenges like trauma, anxiety, and depression. You can sit down with me to process these experiences and develop tools for coping and healing.

Ultimately, working with me can lead to increased self-acceptance, better mental health, and stronger coping skills. All of which can be worked on together in a space that acknowledges and celebrates your authentic self.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you offer letters for gender-affirming care?

Yes! I am able to offer gender-affirming care letters to my regular clients or as a standalone service as part of my Gender-Affirming Care Eval service. You do not need to be a long-term therapy client to access this service. This service is available to folks who are at least 18 years old at the time of their evaluation. Evaluations can take from 1-3 sessions and adhere to the WPATH standards for gender-affirming care evaluations. You will receive your letter within one week of your final evaluation session. In these evaluation sessions we will spend time getting to know each other, gathering mental health history, and discussing what your gender-affirming journey looks like for you. Your journey is unique and valid. You do not need to fit a certain narrative to pursue your authentic self. My goal is to provide a safe space for you to come as you are, share your story and your journey with me, and walk away with the documentation you need to access the next part of your journey. Eval sessions: $75 per session Letter fee: $15

Q: Are you a member of the LGBTQAI+ community?

Yes! I am a member of the community. When you work with me you are working with a trans and queer person who gets what it’s like to navigate a world that is not designed for LGBTQAI+ people.

Q: What are your fees?

Individual sessions: $160 Family/Couples counseling sessions: $180 Gender Affirming Care Evaluations: $75 I am currently in network with most major insurance companies in Arizona and Florida. For couples sessions please verify with your insurance carrier that they will cover couples work. Not all insurance companies will cover couples counseling. I am now working with Thrizer to help you claim your out-of-network benefits with your insurance carrier. Please see the Finances section on the FAQs page to learn more about how Thrizer might be able to help you with your therapy costs.

Q: Do you take insurance?

Yes. I take insurance for individual therapy sessions. In Arizona, I am currently in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Cigna, Carelon, and Quest Behavioral Health. In Florida I am currently in network with Aetna, Ascension, AnthemEAP, BCBS, Carelon, Cigna, and Quest Behavioral Health. I do not currently accept insurance for group services. I only accept insurance in Arizona and Florida at this time

Q: If I'm not out to certain people in my life, how do you ensure confidentiality?

I will never disclose your identity to anyone without your explicit permission. Our relationship is confidential and I will neither confirm nor deny that you are even a client of mine without your written permission. If you wish me to speak or consult with other providers, family members, or loved ones I require a completed Release of Information to be filled out before I engage with them. We will then discuss what information you want me to share with them and how to refer to you in that exchange. If you are a minor client I will always speak with you about what information you are comfortable with me sharing with your parents or guardians and how you would like me to refer to you in conversations with them.
