Specialties
I often get asked who I work with and if I specialize in working with any particular population. Below are my specialties. However, keep in mind that if you don't match any of these specialties but you still want to work with me you are more than welcome. I am a radically accepting provider and will welcome you into my practice with warmth and acceptance. This is also not an exhaustive list. I work with a wide variety of people from many different backgrounds. You are more than welcome to reach out to me to see if we would be a good fit for each other.

LGBTQAI+ Communities
From the time I was an undergrad, I could see the gap in accepting and affirming mental health care for LGBTQIA+ folks. My own personal experiences paired with those of my friends motivated me to fill this gap. I bring a strong background of both education and lived experience to my work with LGBTQIA+ folks and enjoy showing up for my community in the work that I do.

Trauma/PTSD/CPTSD
Trauma can be devastating. Whether it is the accumulation of small traumas over time, long-term negative experiences, or a single big event it can disrupt our lives and make us feel isolated and disconnected from ourselves and the world around us. If you are feeling alone, on edge, and like you're stuck in the past please know that you're not alone. I help clients heal from their traumas so that they can thrive again by providing a safe, non-judgmental, space to process and heal from trauma.

Poly/CNM/Open Relationships
Finding a provider who is accepting, affirming, and understanding of your relationship structure can be a struggle. As an ally to the poly/cnm/healthy open relationship community, I have heard from friends and clients just how difficult this can be. I have done research, learned from friends and clients, and am always on the lookout for training in this area to be sure that I can support you on your journey. You can rest assured that I welcome working with folks who are in poly/cnm/open relationships.

Rural Folks
Life in rural areas is just different. There is something peaceful about living away from the noise, pollution, and bright lights of the big city. It also comes with its own unique set of challenges. I grew up in a rural farming community of around 200 people and then lived in a small rural city for six years after moving to Arizona. I understand the unique challenges and strengths of rural living as well as the struggles of transitioning from rural living to city living and vice versa. I've done it more than a few times myself! If you're looking for a counselor who just gets it then I'm you're guy.

Kinky Folks
Is being vanilla not your thing? Do you enjoy a dynamic that's a little different than what's considered traditional? Are you looking for a mental health provider who understands what it means to be kinky? Then you've come to the right place. Kinky people bring a unique perspective to mental health, wellness, and what it means to be vulnerable and trusting with a partner. I love working with folks who are members of the kinky community and aim to promote healthy dynamics and behaviors in the exploration of this aspect of identity.

Outdoor Enthusiasts
There's something special about the outdoors and the people who enthusiastically enjoy all that nature has to offer. As someone who spends many hours outdoors and has hundreds of miles of trails under his feet, I can resonate with those who prefer to be outdoors. In fact, this is why I offer some outdoor therapy options. Sometimes nature and movement are just what we need to move forward with our mental health.
